  • Content you submit: Arguments, side statements, evidence, and any text, links, or images you post become public on the Service.
  • Reports: If you flag an argument, we store your reason and details along with your account ID.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: We log standard server information such as IP address, browser type, referring URL, timestamps, and pages visited for security, abuse prevention, and analytics.
  • Cookies and local storage: We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a CSRF token to protect forms. These are required for the Service to function and are not used for cross-site tracking.

Information from third parties

When you sign in with a social provider, that provider may share basic profile details with us. The provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle your data on their end.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • To display the arguments, sides, and evidence you submit on the public Service.
  • To record your votes (which side and which evidence you upvoted) and prevent duplicate voting.
  • To send you service-related emails, such as sign-in magic links and notifications when an argument you created is resolved.
  • To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service, including rate limiting, spam and abuse prevention, and investigating reports.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Public Content

Arguments, side statements, evidence, votes, and user display names are publicly visible. Anyone — including people without an account, search engines, and social media scrapers — can view this content. Do not submit personal, sensitive, or confidential information as part of an argument.

5. Advertising

We display ads via Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these limited situations:

  • Service providers: Hosting (BlueHost), email delivery, and ad providers who help operate the Service, under their own privacy and data-handling terms.
  • Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of bik.kr, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, subject to the protections of this policy.

We retain your account information and submitted content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Arguments and votes are retained even after an account is closed because they are public content that may be referenced by ongoing or resolved disputes. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging.

  • Access and update: You can view your profile and arguments at any time. Sign in to edit your active arguments before voting opens.
  • Email: Service emails (magic links, notifications) are functional and not promotional. You cannot opt out of magic-link emails while using email sign-in, but you can switch to a social provider to stop them.
  • Cookies: Essential cookies are required for the Service. We do not use optional cookies for analytics or personalization beyond AdSense.
  • Account closure: You may request account closure by contacting us. Note that public arguments and votes will remain visible as described above.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted password hashing, signed magic-link URLs with short expiry, and CSRF protection on forms. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Users

If you access the Service from outside the country where our servers are hosted, your information will be transferred to and processed in that country. By using the Service, you consent to that transfer.

12. Your Privacy Rights
